Hi, I’m Kez.
My real name is Kerryn but the only person who calls me that is my mother or my husband when I’ve done something silly like leave a cupboard door open. If you email me, and call me Kerryn, I’ll assume I have done something to p*ss you off.
I’m a trained Opera singer, a former DJ at NXFM and B105, a marketing manager and a massive nerd.
In 2009 I added celebrant to my list of skills because I wanted to offer couples the chance to really be in charge of their marriage ceremony. Since then I have performed over 900 ceremonies, so I like to take that as a sign that I’m doing a freaking good job.
I have the most loving husband in the world. We are the kind of couple that give each other a bit of s**t but love each other deeply. You know the couple that when people talk about them they stick their fingers down their throats and make barf noises.
We live in Mayfield, Newcastle, New South Wales and have two loud, crazy, amazing boys.

Since 2009, Wed By Kez has been marrying couples mostly in Newcastle and the Hunter but on the odd fun occasion around Australia. Before marriage equality, I would happily perform Commitment ceremonies for LGBTQIA+ couples, but since 2018 that is no longer required since couples of the same or non-traditional gender can now marry. (YAY!)
Wed By Kez is not just about me, Kez the celebrant, it’s a place where couples can find a celebrant who will actually listen to what they are saying. I encourages people to really think about what’s important and the way they want to get married and I provide option that sit “outside the box”.
Sure, you can read a wedding magazine and follow every step A, B, C… but what you get is exactly the same wedding as every other person reading the same things. Instead, I always help my couples find moments and ways where they can truely be themselves and make their wedding, unique, personal and amazing.
