At last count I had performed over 210 weddings since becoming a celebrant in 2009. And last count was a little while ago.. [mental note: recount my weddings] but each of the ceremonies I perform are unique and special to me.
And not because of a dress, or flowers, or hair and makeup.
What I remember from my ceremonies is the cheeky laugh when they read their vows to each other, or when the ring takes a little longer to get on. The way a Dad’s hand shakes as he lovingly lets go of his daughters arm and gives her hand to her husbands. The moment before the Bride arrives when the colour leaves the face of Groom [and it does ladies, it so does!]
The first kiss.
We put so much time and energy into details of a wedding when it really can be the very littlest moments that are the most special.
And these moments can’t be planned necessarily. The can’t be rehearsed or scripted. They are totally spontaneous and utterly memorable.
