Why I love being a wife

I am a very lucky girl.

Each and every time I get to marry a couple or help someone celebrate their commitment I am reminded of my own wedding and my wonderful husband.

Prior to meeting Mickey I was a cynical woman, convinced that marriage and family and children were not for me and working equally hard to convince myself that I was not for them. I almost did it too.

But then one day you walk into a room and there they are. There is no music, no swelling of the orchestral strings, no life becoming slow motion, no angelic “aaaah”. There is just a person that you connect to in a way that you didn’t even know possible.

Conversation [and laughter] flow easily, you’re not flirting, you’re not self conscious of your appearance, you are just 100% yourself and you leave the room with a sense of happiness that you have never known before.

My [now] husband has been my teacher, my protector, my inspiration and my purpose since we met in 2007 and it leaves me breathless and amazed that he feels the same about me. And he shows me all the time, in a million of ways.

My greatest wish is that everyone find that person in the world who makes them feel like this… everyday and in return be that person for someone.
