Yesterday I spent a lot of time on my phone. I had three phone calls from three separate couples all concerned over COVID-19 and the impacts on their wedding ceremony. Whilst I can’t speak for any other wedding vendors, and while the situation changes so frequently that this advice may be outdated before I even post it here is an outline of how I am tackling the current Corona Virus with my couples.
If you are thinking of cancelling you wedding, I get it, there are a lot of reasons why it’s a good idea and there are the travel restrictions which can also mean that a lot of your guests are unable to attend.
Whatever the reason, If you decide to reschedule your wedding to a future date I will still honour your booking and make no additional charges* for your ceremony on the proviso that
- You still want me to be your celebrant (and why wouldn’t you)
- You are willing to be flexible and work around any existing bookings that may also occur on the same day. (ie If I have a 3pm booking on your new wedding date, you would either have your ceremony at 1pm or 4:30pm depending on location) .
If you decide to have your wedding ceremony on a date or at a location that I cannot service, any refunds of existing monies is by discussion and as per my contract terms.
If you decide to go ahead with a new wedding date, and source a new celebrant as you are not able to be flexible with your timing, my contract terms will apply.
Despite all the paperwork, and the contracts, I am not an unreasonable person and am open to all discussions around how the current situation has impacted on all events in the foreseeable future.
Let’s talk… just not in person
*In the event that the ceremony location has to change and is not of a similar distance to the original location, some additional travel charges may apply.
